Sweet Baby Controversy: Gamers Outraged by Jean Grey’s Appearance in Marvel’s Wolverine, New York, NY 10001

Late last year, hackers breached Insomniac Games’ servers and leaked early builds of Marvel’s Wolverine. While this incident has already been widely discussed online, a new controversy has emerged, giving critics another reason to scrutinize the upcoming action game.

Mark Kern, a former Blizzard Entertainment employee and now a prominent Twitter/X personality, has drawn attention to the altered appearance of Jean Grey. According to Kern, the character’s model underwent significant changes during development. He noted that Jean initially had a pleasant appearance, but was later transformed into what he described as a “manly, exhausted woman.” Kern attributed this change to Sweet Baby Inc, a consulting firm, allegedly pressuring Insomniac to redesign Wolverine’s love interest.

Of course, there is no concrete evidence to support Kern’s claims. While Sweet Baby Inc has confirmed its involvement in the creation of Marvel’s Wolverine, the extent of its influence on the development process remains unclear. Neither Insomniac Games nor Sony have commented on the situation.
