SpaceX to Launch Mini Version of Starlink Modem Soon

Elon Musk has officially confirmed the upcoming release of a compact modem for Starlink satellite internet. Unreserved in his excitement, the SpaceX CEO claims this product will quite literally change our world.

“I just set it up and am posting this through space. It took less than 5 minutes. Easy to carry in a backpack. This product will change the world,” Musk wrote.

Musk also hinted that the Starlink Mini will be about half the price of the current Starlink V4 model ($499), suggesting a price range of $250–$300. However, this version will have more modest specs: download speeds up to 100 Mbps, upload speeds up to 11.5 Mbps, and latency around 23 ms.

The new modem is expected to be released in the coming months.
