OnePlus is gearing up to unveil the Ace 3 Pro smartphone, featuring a next-generation battery called the Glacier Battery, developed in collaboration with CATL, a leader in the energy sector. This new battery promises exceptional longevity and performance.
The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will come equipped with a 6100 mAh battery. Remarkably, this battery is smaller in size compared to the 5000 mAh batteries found in previous models, measuring 82.25 x 65.2 x 5.94 mm versus 87.6 x 63.8 x 6.12 mm. This size reduction was achieved by replacing the graphite anode with a silicon-carbon anode, resulting in an energy density of 763 Wh/L.
OnePlus claims that the Glacier Battery not only offers increased capacity and extended battery life but also ensures longer-term durability. The company asserts that the battery will retain at least 80% of its original capacity after four years of regular use. This translates to approximately 1460 charging cycles if the phone is charged daily. For comparison, Apple promises that the iPhone 15 series will maintain 80% battery capacity after 1000 cycles, while older models are rated for only 500 cycles.
In addition to its capacity and longevity, the Ace 3 Pro’s battery supports fast charging at 100W. OnePlus states that the included adapter can fully charge the battery in just 36 minutes.
Given the emphasis on battery durability and performance, the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro is poised to offer significant advantages for users who prioritize long-lasting and efficient power management in their smartphones. This makes it a noteworthy contender in the competitive smartphone market, particularly for American consumers looking for durable and high-performance devices.
