Intel Addresses Issues with New Core Processors and Offers Fixes

Intel has shed light on the investigation into issues plaguing their 13th and 14th generation Core processors, which have caused operating system crashes and other malfunctions for some users. The company has outlined when it expects to fully resolve these bugs and provided recommended UEFI settings to minimize disruptions.

According to Intel, the problem affects 13th and 14th generation Intel Core processors with the K, KF, and KS designations. The culprit is increased voltage due to incorrect UEFI settings, which cause excessive voltage to be supplied to the processor in Boost mode, even when the core temperatures are high.

The root cause has been identified as the Enhanced Thermal Velocity Boost (eTVB) technology. This feature allows the processor to exceed its standard Boost frequency but contains an error that leads to the aforementioned issues. Intel is currently working on a solution with motherboard manufacturers and promises to roll out an update by July 19th.

For those affected, Intel recommends waiting for the UEFI update or adjusting the settings manually according to the official guidelines. This issue is particularly significant in the USA, where many users rely on high-performance Intel processors for various applications.
