Simulation enthusiasts often create personalized setups that mimic a pilot’s or driver’s cockpit. One Chinese hobbyist took it a step further by crafting a device that accurately conveys the thrill of drifting.
A video emerged on the Chinese social media platform Bilibili, showcasing an enthusiast’s racing simulator setup assembled in a hangar. The driver’s seat is mounted on a special movable platform in front of a monitor, with the controls consisting of a steering wheel, pedals, and a gear shifter. The device simulates the sensations of rapid starts, car drifts in corners, braking, collisions, and driving on rough terrain.
Remarkably, the entire setup is powered by a laptop placed behind the pedals. The enthusiast tested the system using the mobile game Need for Speed: Assemble, likely run through an emulator on the laptop.
