HUAWEI introduces its own programming language.

At its HDC 2024 developer conference, HUAWEI unveiled significant updates regarding the HarmonyOS NEXT operating system and introduced a brand new programming language called Cangjie.

HUAWEI describes Cangjie as a next-generation programming language designed for universal analytical applications. Integrated with the HarmonyOS ecosystem, it aims to simplify the development process. According to HUAWEI, Cangjie features built-in intelligence, natural versatility, high performance, and robust security.

Cangjie includes an integrated AgentDSL environment that combines natural language with programming language elements. It is designed to be lightweight and scalable, featuring a modular architecture for various scenarios. The language’s automatic garbage collection system ensures smoother application thread performance and enhanced response times. Cangjie supports functional, imperative, and object-oriented programming styles.

The new programming language is now available for developers to explore.
