Hacker Breaches and Puts Three Apple Services Up for Sale

A hacker known on the dark web as IntelBroker has claimed to have gained access to the source codes of several internal Apple tools used by the company’s employees. He revealed the weak link that allowed the data breach and listed the names of the compromised services.

The announcement of the breach appeared on a specialized dark web forum. According to the hacker, this month he managed to obtain the source codes for Apple-HWE-Confluence-Advanced, AppleMacroPlugin, and AppleConnect-SSO. The latter is the most well-known of the three, serving as a corporate version of Apple ID that allows Apple employees to authenticate within the company’s network or iOS applications.

As of now, no links or screenshots confirming the leak have surfaced online. However, according to the portal 9To5Mac, most dark web forums verify data before allowing sales to ensure they are not selling “duds.” This adds credibility to the hacker’s claims. He asserts that the data was leaked due to mistakes made by Apple employees.

Apple representatives have not responded to journalists’ inquiries about the data theft. Previously, IntelBroker has hacked into systems belonging to AMD, AT&T, General Electric, Zscaler, Home Depot, and Barclays Bank.

This incident raises significant concerns about cybersecurity for major companies in the USA and worldwide, highlighting the ongoing risks and challenges in protecting sensitive corporate information from sophisticated cyber threats.
