Google has enhanced the history feature in its Chrome browser, allowing it to track browsing activities across other applications. Now, the mobile version of Chrome can not only log its own visits to various websites but also track the browsing history of other apps.
Insider Artem Russakovskii shared this update on his blog on X. According to him, users will now be able to see whether a site was visited through Chrome or via another app like Google News. This can help users understand the origins of specific links in their Chrome history.
To demonstrate, Russakovskii provided a screenshot of the mobile browser, showing that some tabs include a note indicating they were accessed through an external source. This new feature is expected to be available globally in the near future.
