Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail Creators Now Own a Nuclear Reactor

The Chinese studio miHoYo, well-known for its highly successful games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, has found a remarkable way to invest its substantial earnings. The company has made headlines not just for its gaming success but now for its venture into nuclear technology.

Back in 2022, miHoYo invested approximately $65 million in Energy Singularity, a startup focused on nuclear fusion technology and the development of tokamaks. Recently, this investment has borne fruit as the company has constructed its first privately-owned nuclear reactor, which is now operational. miHoYo is a co-owner of this groundbreaking reactor.

With a valuation of $23 billion as of spring 2024, miHoYo can afford to diversify its investments into various advanced technologies. The creators of Genshin Impact have secured a spot among the top 12 most valuable private companies in the world, demonstrating their impressive financial growth and innovative foresight.
