Elon Musk announced the postponement of the Tesla Robotaxi project, which was initially scheduled for an August release this year. The announcement was made via his official Tesla account on the social media platform X.
While Musk did not provide a new premiere date for the Robotaxi, he cited the need for design modifications and additional time to showcase “a few more things” as the reasons for the delay.
Details about the Tesla Robotaxi remain scarce. Rumors suggest that its design will resemble the Cybertruck and that the interior will lack traditional elements such as a steering wheel and pedals. The anticipated cost of the vehicle is expected to be at least $25,000.
According to Electrek, the Robotaxi presentation was originally set to coincide with the launch of a new computing platform at Gigafactory Texas. However, this project has also been postponed.
