Mobile gaming has surged in popularity in recent years, but traditional PC gaming values still have a strong following among gamers. According to leaks, Valve is preparing a functional emulator precisely for this audience.
The SteamDB platform discovered files indicating that Valve is working on integrating an Android emulator directly into the Steam client. The company has reportedly based this integration on Waydroid, an open-source platform. Additionally, dataminer Brad Lynch noted that some Valve developers have been addressing bug fixes for the emulator on GitHub. This suggests that in the future, players may be able to launch mobile games directly on PC or Steam Deck.
While the emulator and its full support haven’t yet arrived on Steam, Valve has introduced another innovation. At the end of June, users of the digital store gained access to a feature for recording and editing gameplay moments. In the Steam beta version, users can now create and edit clips, then publish or share them with friends.
