Concord is Making a Comeback: The Game Receives Numerous Hidden Updates on Steam

Following its disappointing launch, it seemed unlikely that Concord—a project that cost its creators several hundred million dollars—would simply vanish from the gaming landscape. However, it appears that Sony is gearing up for a relaunch, as the game has been receiving updates on Steam.

Internet sleuths have discovered in the SteamDB database that Concord is being updated regularly, even though the game is not officially listed in the store. This strongly suggests that a relaunch is imminent. It’s likely that the game will adopt a free-to-play model, but only time will tell if this strategy pays off.

For context, the failure of this service-based game is estimated to have cost Sony between $200 and $400 million, according to external sources. Following the controversial launch, the game director of Concord stepped down, and staff at Firewalk Studios began seeking new employment opportunities.
