Casio has introduced a new timepiece, the Casio WS-B1000, which combines the features of a traditional electronic watch with an LCD display and a fitness tracker. This hybrid design allows the device to perform modern wearable functions while maintaining exceptional battery life. The company has released key specifications and pricing details for the gadget.
The Casio WS-B1000 features a transflective LCD display, similar to that of conventional watches. Borrowing from fitness trackers, it can connect to smartphones via Bluetooth for time synchronization, alarm settings, and phone location tracking. Additionally, the watch can count the wearer’s steps.
Users can set daily step goals through a mobile app. If the step count is insufficient, the watch will emit an alert sound and display a reminder icon on the screen. The device also provides a step count graph for the past seven hours.
Other features include a stopwatch with memory for 200 laps, a timer, five alarms, an hourly chime, a screen backlight with three- or one-and-a-half-second duration, water resistance up to 100 meters, and a two-year battery life on a single CR2016 battery.
The Casio WS-B1000 is now available in the US for $55.
